- Built for musicians who live to make music, the R12 MultiTrak from Zoom is a comprehensive and highly portable, all-in-one production surface, packing an 8-track, 24-bit / 44.1 kHz digital recorder with 2×4 audio interface capability in a battery powered chassis, allowing you to make music anywhere you are. The R12 wears many hats for the modern musician, featuring control surface
functionality, 150 preloaded drum loops, a customizable click track, a dedicated FX channel with four options, a compressor on inputs 1 and 2, pan and 3-band EQ control per track, a tuner, and even a highly musical FM synthesizer, letting you easily record albums, perform live, or produce quality streaming content thanks to features like sequence play for backing tracks.
The R12 sports a large, colorful 2.4″ LCD touchscreen with intuitive control functions like swipe editing, two XLR-1/4″ TRS combo inputs, with Hi-Z on input 1 and selectable phantom power on both, balanced 1/4″ monitor outputs, a 3.5mm output with support for high-powered headphones, and a USB-C terminal for audio interface and bus power duties (cable included). Powering the R12 is as simple as loading in four AA batteries for up to 5 hours of continuous use, and you can also power the unit with the included AD-17 AC adapter, providing three methods of powering your recorder.

And with a compact and mobile form factor, you can record and mix songs directly on the R12 without a computer. Use the full-color LCD touchscreen to cut, copy, loop, and edit your tracks with ease.
Fully LoadedThe R12 includes a send effects channel offering reverb, chorus, and delay with a dedicated effects return fader. For advanced tones, you can use presets and effects from Zoom’s Guitar Lab. The R12 also has pan and a 3-channel EQ for each track and a compressor on inputs 1 and 2.

Activate the fully customizable click track with the press of a button. Click balance blends the metronome with your playback audio and routes it to your headphones and/or the main outputs.
Add Some Synth for Good MeasureThe R12 has 18 FM synth instruments built in. They can be played by plugging in a MIDI keyboard via USB-C, or programmed using the touchscreen.
