- Hand selected goat skin heads: The heads are secured and tuned by spanning nylon ropes, which are squeezed to bend the notes of the drum to offer warm tone for both high and low pitch
- Wooden striker included: The drum includes a curved wooden beater in order to play the instrument with proper technique and achieve optimal sound quality
- Carved design: The shell is formed into an hourglass shape and decorated with a hand-carved motif in an earthy design
- Traditional sound: these drums originated in West Africa and are still used today in the music of the Yoruba people
