Adam  Audio S2V Overview

Adam Professional Audio’s S2V is an active studio reference monitor built for vertical positioning in small to medium control rooms. It has a 7″ HexaCone woofer and a handcrafted folded-ribbon tweeter and can provide 350W RMS of total amp power. The Adam-designed high-range propagation system (HPS) waveguide ensures a wide, stable sweet spot.

The ADAM Audio S2V, designed for transparency, has an excellent frequency response of 35 Hz – 50 kHz. A wide range of DSP parameters, from equalization to delay, are available for adapting the monitor to the environment and personal tastes. The rear panel has an OLED display and a push-button/rotary encoder for parameter adjustment. Connect a computer to the USB Type-A connector for easy remote access to all S2V settings.

Two inputs, balanced analog and AES3 digital, are accessible via XLR connectors. An XLR AES3 output is provided to transport digital signals to the second monitor, as required for proper digital signal flow. Adjust the input sensitivity and output level as appropriate. Load and store voicing presets to quickly configure monitor parameters. If you want to make more tonal modifications, there is a 6-band parametric EQ with high-pass and low-pass filters. For timing changes, use a delay of up to 5 milliseconds.

7-inch ELE low-frequency driver

ADAM Audio’s S-ART folded-ribbon tweeter, unlike conventional loudspeakers, employs a pleated diaphragm capable of moving air four times quicker than the folds themselves. The S-ART tweeter, handcrafted to the finest specifications, produces spectacular highs up to 50kHz and fills the soundfield with astonishing clarity, authentically communicating every facet of the source material. The S-ART high-frequency driver, manufactured and thoroughly tested in ADAM’s Berlin facilities, is a rare exception in today’s automated mass manufacturing.

ADAM Audio’s innovative waveguide technology benefits both the DCH midrange driver and the S-ART tweeter, improving the precision of the drivers’ off-axis response. Using cutting-edge SHARC processing technology, the S series’ unique DSP optimizes the system’s loudspeaker crossovers to produce linear response throughout the full frequency range while also providing user sound-tuning EQ, room tuning, and voicing capabilities. The DSP also provides limiter-based high-frequency driver protection, processes signals from the AES3 digital inputs, and supports a variety of extension options. Software upgrades are readily performed using the system’s USB connector, which also allows you to connect to PCs and control DSP features through software.
