The SBP2F5 incorporates advanced hardware typically found on higher-end kits. Absolute Lugs with an internal locking mechanism ensure remarkable tuning stability by preventing tension rods from loosening during play. The YESS (Yamaha Enhanced Sustain System) tom mounting minimizes hardware contact at the shell’s nodal point, maximizing natural resonance and sustain. Yamaha’s original Ball Mount & Clamp system provides unparalleled 360-degree flexibility for precise tom positioning. Die-cast claw hooks with rubber inserts protect the wood bass drum hoops and reduce unwanted noise, while 1.5mm triple-flange steel hoops contribute to an open sound and long sustain on the toms and snare.
